tOSU +3.5 at Sparty (ov/un 126.5) Sun 4 ET, CBS

Found this interesting. I had thought that Izzo called that time out.
- I asked coach Thad Matta after the game why he called time out with one second left rather than let the second play out. Michigan State would have had to rush a shot regardless of whether it used one of its two remaining timeouts.

Matta said that during the timeout he called with 24.7 seconds left to set up the final shot, "we had told them if it goes in, we were going to take a time out. But I thought it was going to be with about three seconds."
The play took longer than planned before William Buford made the go-ahead basket.

"Had I known there were eight-tenths left, I never would have done it," Matta said, referring to the time originally on the clock before officials reviewed the play and adjusted it.

The reason Matta wanted a timeout in the first place, he said, was because of how the Buckeyes defended Northwestern on Wednesday night after Jared Sullinger made the go-ahead basket with 3.1 seconds left.
"The other night we celebrated the make and (John) Shurna got two dribbles in (and) a look at the basket," Matta said. "We worked it the other day in practice and I wasn?t 100 percent sure we understood (what to do)."
