KU has a solid team, although not deep. T.Robinson is a lotto pick and Withey is blocking shots like A Davis. They are a very good free throw shooting team, they love to push the tempo. Ohio St has the talent and depth to win it all. Playing at AFH is probably the hardest, most hostile enviroment in college. Sullinger plays it should work out, he can draw a ton of fouls.....if they call them. Getting Withey on the bench will put the pressure on Robinson down low......both are foul prone. If they go to the bench, tOSU will blow them out. If KU's guards don't turn it over like they have recently and the other 2 stay out of foul trouble, tOSU by sheer talent still should win, but much closer. 5-6 pts. Neutral court, 15+

What are other opinions of the game? KU fans think Sullinger isn't in T-Robs league, although Sullinger is also a lotto pick and most likely POY. The biggest difference they point out is T-Rob is alot stronger, I know Sully ismuch more polished offensively. Hope he plays.

I don't think the oddsmakers have any idea whether or not he will be ready to play tomorrow but they are probably pretty confident that he will. Plus, even without him, I think we can make a good run at Kansas.

That's right. KU just turned it over 22 times against Long Beach State, and Taylor had 11 turns against Duke - it's a good bet that many turnovers will happen when Craft & Smith are guarding them.

I guess Sagarin dismisses the curb-stomping we gave to the then-#3 team in the country just 10 days ago...
It's early yet; Sagarin gets to be a better predictor later in the season.

I think Ken Pomeroy figures us about a 1-2 point favorite too, but not sure because I'm a cheap SOB that hasn't given him $20 to learn more.

More on Sully

FWIW--interesting to note that the twitter came from after the show with Satch
Jared Sullinger's father, Satch, put in his second Friday night of duty in the WBNS-TV studios breaking down local boys high school basketball games on the station's Wall to Wall Sports show.

A few minutes after the segment ended, show host Beau Bishop posted this on his Twitter account @BeauBishop10TV:

"Really looking forward to how this OSU team plays at KU tomorrow, gut feeling is Jared wont play. Probably the right call."

Mere coincidence that Bishop revealed his gut feeling after working the show with Satch? Very good question.

Stay tuned. I plan to be in Allen Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon when the Buckeyes take the floor for warmups. I'll let you know what I see.

Regardless of whether Jared Sullinger plays today, the Ohio State men?s basketball team must contend with a rather large issue at Kansas.

Thomas Robinson is 6 feet 10, averages a double-double and is projected to be a lottery pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

?He is a phenomenal basketball player, probably the best we have gone against this year,? Ohio State coach Thad Matta said. ?He does so many different things ? probably a lot like Jared.?

And there?s Jeff Withey, who stands 7 feet, blocked nine shots on Tuesday against Long Beach State and almost made it a triple-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Whether the No. 2-ranked Buckeyes are able to level the showdown in the post with their own 6-foot-9, 265-pound pillar may not be known until after they take the floor in Allen Fieldhouse this afternoon.

While saying Thursday that Sullinger?s tender back was feeling better, Matta said a decision on playing him probably would not come until today.

Kansas coach Bill Self scoffed at that.

?If I were a betting man, I?d say Thad?s not a very good poker player,? Self said, ?because I think that he?ll probably play.?

Even if Sullinger does not play, guard Aaron Craft said, ?It?s a great opportunity for us as a team. If Jared doesn?t play, Jared doesn?t play, and we?re not going to miss a beat.?
That is debatable.

Kansas preview

? Matchup to watch: Deshaun Thomas called himself the Buckeyes? ?X factor? against Duke. He could be again, spending much of the game matched up at power forward against Kansas? best player, Thomas Robinson. Robinson plays with a high motor and is 3 inches taller than Thomas.

? Notable: Kansas has lost one game in Allen Fieldhouse since 2007, to Texas last season, and has won 46 consecutive home games against nonconference opponents. Its last such loss was to Oral Roberts on Nov. 15, 2006. ? Ohio State is 1-3 on the road against lower-ranked nonconference teams under coach Thad Matta. It won its last such game, at Florida last season. ? Bob Knight will be part of the ESPN broadcast team. ? Ohio State freshman LaQuinton Ross did not make the trip.

I guess one streak will end today
