tOSU -12.5 at Iowa (ov/un 135.5) Tue 9 ET, BTN

Don't get BTN but wouldn't have watched any tonight, anyway. The Sugar Bowl took priority on this day.

Saw the Bucks were down at the half and rallied to win it. Don't give a shit about the point spread. The good guys won.

Great night to be a Buckeye! :osu:

Fuck Iowa. You can pretty much script what happens in Iowa City every year nowadays - they will suck early and lose a lot of OOC games to drive down the league RPI, but get a little better and catch a second wind just in time to be a pain in the ass in league play and scare you with the prospect of an extremely embarrassing loss. Iowa basketball is a drain on the Big Ten.

Have not watched the entire game as of yet but listen to some of the first half on the radio. Stokes questioned a lot of the calls made by officials. Jim Burr:tongue2: was there so that might be accurate statement. We have got to improve our free-throw shooting. JD, Buford, and Jared are pretty consistent but the other guys are a liability when they are on the court IMO . Also, to shoot 55% to your opponents 43% and only win by five points something is wrong. The Buckeyes also were outrebounded and that has got to stop especially on the defensive boards. Their defense has also got to get better from the start of the game and not wait for Matta to light into them at halftime because one of these days it is going to catch up to them. The Minnesota game will be a good test when it comes to rebounding the ball and it will have to play with much more intensity.

Teams can always improve, of course. But given that the Buckeyes remain the top team in the nation from a defensive-efficiency standpoint, calls that they "need to get better on defense" seem strange. Their defense is typically otherworldly; the past two games it's been very good but human.

Big part of our struggles last night IMO was poor play (per the standard he's set) by Aaron Craft. Careless passes, lack of awareness on D. For once, he played almost like a freshman. :wink2:

The defensive efficiency will not change because Iowa only shot 44% from the floor last night. One of the problems was our defensive rebounding and the high number of turnovers. I thought about Craft playing on the road for the second time and he struggled a little bit at Indiana but more so last night. Lighty also had 5 turnovers and Craft 4. So we had a senior and a freshman leaving us in turnovers:(
