Who needs what? I finished putting together a linux server w/ 650 GB of storage space and it's now online. Currently I'm seeding the 2004 Michigan game, but I have everything I've made, as well as timbuck2's entire 2006 DVD collection available for seeding.

I would like to get the 2005 UT, NORTHWESTERN, MSU, MINNESOTA, ILLINOIS, and IOWA. I'm am still new to the process. All I can say is that I have downloaded a few games off of Azureus, so what more do I need to be able to get these videos?

First, which games are you downloading? Timbuck2's DVD's or my DIVX's? (For future reference, make sure to mention this - helps the seeding effort.) If you have downloaded timbuck2's dvds, take a look at his guide on how to burn them onto a DVD. If you are trying to watch the DIVX (or don't mind watching the DVD's on your computer, w/o burning them), you can play them w/ VLC, which can be found here.

ROCK3T,

If you do have tim's 2005 DVDs, I would appreciate some seeds. I think I have all but two or three. I think I got to about 70-80% on the megapack and then it stopped. I'll check back later with the actual games I need.

I only got his 2006 DVD's. Sorry :(

If tim's got the time, might be worth pm'ing him to start seeding the 2005 games that people need. The 2006 games seem fairly well seeded.

BTW, all the links have finally been moved to the wiki!

The new wiki looks great Rock3t. All you downloaders remember to help us seed after you download please.
That's right.. the more seeds, the quicker the downloading!

BTW, I've got most of TimBUCK2's 2006 Iowa, Texas and scUM games, 2002 PSU, 1997 Rose Bowl, and 1998 Missouri seeding.

Thanks for the wiki redesign Rock3t and all the other work you do for this project!

The idea of pimptorrent going down sucks - I don't like having to repost torrents on different trackers.

I updated and cleaned up the "Getting Started" section of the wiki. Hopefully that should help the newbies and technologically uhh... un-enlightened folk.

Tracker recommendation

R0CK3TM4NN;906856; said:
Timbuck2's method is the fastest. He was able to get them done in ~5 hours after the end of the game last year. My process takes a bit longer, usually the morning after the game.

We actually don't host our own tracker, but we're kicking around that idea. What experience/knowledge do you have in that department? We currently use public trackers (like thepiratebay) and sometimes use private trackers (like demonoid) to serve our games. However, it is getting cumbersome to use.

Sorry it took me a few days to get you an answer. Yes, I absolutely have all the experience/knowledge to help. Obviously, the most important tracker considerations are as follows:

1. Fast downloads
2. No legal problems
3. Stable and reliable
4. Low cost

TPB is very reliable and overseas but it's a public tracker and in the beginning the content provider (you/TimBuck2) is still doing the initial seed meaning downloads speeds are somewhat limited until the "swarm" gains numbers. This can be addressed using something called a seedbox. A seedbox is a single server that acts like multiple seeds - very helpful for content that gets a big intial crush of requests but have one or few seeders. You will see a HUGE improvement in the download speeds using a hosted seedbox. Seedbox services are hosted all over the internet but it might be best to find one overseas to avoid anyone having any legal problems. The other advantage is it's a private tracker so it can be published just to Buckeye fans which means it will draw less unwanted attention. Using a seedbox means the initial content provider needs to upload the video file to the seedbox server first and then publish the torrent. The price varies like hosting depending on how much disk space/bandwidth you want. But you can get a pretty nice seedbox for $20 a month and I am sure donations would offset that cost.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. If not, I will just try to be an early seeder. Cheers.

Sorry if I missed this question is a previous post, but is anybody gonna be able to up the game from this weekend since it's only going to be on Directv? :osu:

Cross your fingers! Timbuck2 has DirecTV and should be able to get the BTN games. However, his Tivo is busted. :( He's got replacement on the way, but he doesn't know if it will be here on time!
