Okay I am trying to download the Ohio State Michigan Game from 2006. I know nothing about seeding and leeching. I am only downloading at 1.5 kB/s. That seems slow to me, is that a normal speed, or am I doing something wrong. I know nothing about torrents, mind you.

I'm no technical wizard.. hell, I can hardly figure out how to use the torrent software correctly... took me about a year to get it set right.... but you should be doing better than 1.5k

The DL should fluctuate quite a bit, and since the files are typically so big, a 24 hour or more DL isn't uncommon (for me, anyway), but I'd think the DL speed should be higher.

Only thing I can tell you is to tweak your settings. There's a great help file out there (If you're using Azureus) on wiki. You probably need to set your port and such. Are you getting a "NAT Error?"

There's aren't not enough seeders out there for this file. I think I'm the only one uploading all of the football torrents and my bandwidth can only be split so many ways. In other words, we need more seeders!

EDIT: Just checked and saw that the 06 scUM game got pushed to the bottom of my queue. Looks like it's uploading faster now. Check on your side to confirm...

What is a file that has more seeders that I can try to dl



Edit: It is just now up to 20 kB/s. I don't know what happened. Did some one do something to speed it up?

Just to expand on this question about seeding and leeching. In azureus they are called Seeds and peers. A peer is someone who is downloading. A seed(er) is someone who has the file on their computer and is letting someone copy it thru the torrent. That is why we ask people who download games to leave their torrents (azureus etc) turned on so they can seed the game for others. The more seeders there are the faster the download for the next group of peers.
I think leechers are the same as peers.
At any rate we would ask you to leave your computer and torrent on to act as a seeder for that game. I think Clarity said he was going to download everything so he could help seed too.
