That is certainly great marketing poop, and shows where advertisers need to put their $ to reach their markets, and what programs to advertise on. Relate this to the Super Bowl and how many $ per minute of advertising, and it's clear why the BTN is doing so well.
Yeah, ESPiN knows this, and if you look closer at the markets, Columbus (16th largest city) would command more households reached than Birmingham and or Knoxville. That makes the larger cities much, much more valuable to the networks and advertisers. The "product" (OSU Football) is a valuable one, and one that sells advertising dollars.
Even if viewers watch ESPiN and throw bottles at the TV, they are watching. Mark [Mark May] May has a script to follow, and it's to incite OSU Nation to get angry. Yeah, we all watch, and then post on the "Stupid things [Mark May] says", which proves we watch, which, at the end of the day, is all ESPiN cares about when they are telling Proctor & Gamble, Buick, etc. how many homes their products will be seen in if they spend $X to advertise during the OSU game......
Which may be why OSU appears (and rest of the B10) more on ESPiN now that the BTN is competition. Anyone know the definition of SMSA now? Statistical Marketing Selling Area?
