Wow, it's amazing how the people who didn't attend CAPE, couldn't go, but will try to downgrade the program itself. As you can see, yes i graduated 5th in my class at CAPE in 1990 and is very proud of my school, the relationships/friendships that I still maintain to this day with fellow classmates and teachers. See while you all were taking regular math, students like myself was taking Calculus and Trigonometry which no high school even attempts to teach, not even your precious Walnut Hills. Yes, we took some off the wall SPP classes but in hind sight those classes taught us to multi-task, balance, eye and hand coordination, etc, that would be why NO ONE COULD TOUCH US IN ANY SPORT, not just football. It really irritates me to think that some folks really feel that CAPE just spit out a bunch of ingrate (I don't think you know what this means. Hint: it doesn't mean dumb) lower class homosapiens (?), but I am definitely here to tell you THAT IS BY FAR THE TRUTH. (Fail in the best possible way) Several of my classmates own their own companies, I myself, have been in the I.T. (ITT Tech alum as well?) field for 15 years. Gym all day......LOL boy do I wish that was the case, but definitely by far from the truth. We were not societies (society's) rejects but in fact their superior ones. (Wow you're an a**hole!) Please DON'T confuse the truth with your idiotic opinions or hearsay. (^point taken^)
Now, for the teacher that went through hell, who was she cuz she may not have known what the hell she was doing and didn't know how to get respect from the students or at home from her own dang kids. See there were teachers and staff, plenty of them, that got massive amounts of respects, not only did they earn but we gave it to them freely as they did us. Jim Engel, Paul Davis, Lavonne Washington, Kathy Gerth, Steve Sheehan, Mike Shebinski, just to name a few.
Just passing students?? Did they? Perhaps (Well that kinda blows your whole f**king argument out of the water doesn't it!) but no different than what teachers do at Moeller, St. X, LaSalle, so please don't pinpoint and they may even have done it for you, since some of the comments on here are so idiotically stupid, yes I said that and meant it!! (Oh no you didn't)
Also, get your facts right, we were shut down ONLY for the purpose of allowing the other neighborhood schools to shine. CAPE was doing too much, educational AND sports wise. See perhaps the school was initially created for the purpose of just sending some "lazy" kids, but the end result was phenominal and they couldn't handle it. What you don't realize is our GPA was graded on a higher scale than most, even Walnut Hills. While other schools only needed 19-22 credits to graduate we needed 24, so at any time we could have transferred as Juniors to other school and been completed with school. So much more was expected from us - to whom much is given must is expected....please believe and WE ALWAYS DELIVERED. (Wow is all I can say)
So next time you want to come and play bash and smash about CAPE, go up againt a REAL CRUSADER, then you will learn to shut up, sit down and know your role. Everybody wasn't meant to attend CAPE and that's why they MAD. Glad people still talk about CAPE, keep us in mind and on your tongue, that way WE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!
