Dick Wad's defenses gave up more points in 3 seasons than M*ch*gan did in the 1970s.

They gave up 21 points all season and one touchdown was because of the famous Billy Cannon punt return and they avenged that loss with a (are you ready for this) 21-0 shutout of LSU in the Sugar Bowl rematch.

This info along with Milwoods addition that the punt return would count against the special teams and not the defense makes it damn near impossible for anyone to convince me that this was not the best defense ever.

In addition, the only TD's they gave up that year were to Tulane in a 53-7 blowout and to Tennessee in a 37-7 romp. Just wondering if those TD's were scored against their starters or in garbage time?
