AAAA basketball blog: Miller Grove boys in national showdown against Oak Hill

The three-time state champion Miller Grove boys team will put its No. 2 national ranking (ESPN) on the line on Thursday when it faces third-ranked Oak Hill Academy of Mouth of Wilson, Va., in an 8 p.m. game at Morehouse College?s Forbes Arena.

The game, to be shown by ESPN, is one of two nationally televised games scheduled for Miller Grove this season. The Wolverines will play top-ranked Simeon of Chicago on Jan. 7 in a game to be shown on ESPN2.

Buckskins video from 11/29 is part of a whole interview with Shabazz Muhammad talking about him trying to play with Parker at Duke. It also states UCLA is Parker's #2 school. The article was with fivestarbasketball, don't know about that site and don't have time to find link, just throwing it out there.

Just to say it...he reminded me a lot of Sullinger. Same body frame, same ability to hit the 15 footer, same rebounding presence, similar footwork, etc.

I do not think he was coached as well as Sully but Parker has already shown the dedication of losing 20 pounds this past off season.

Really impressed with the kid.

I saw bigger than Sully, but not more athletic. Thought he was slow on D several times.

In any case, outstanding prospect.

Very impressive that Parker is that light on his feet for his size. Much more athletic and explosive with that weight loss as well.

I can't say I'm too surprised that both Sully and DT would leave after this season.

All the more reason for Parker to sign!
