Ohio State five-star CB target to commit today

Five-star cornerback prospect Tony Grimes (Virginia Beach, VA/Princess Anne) will be announcing his decision today at 5 p.m. ET according to Grimes’ high school coach.

While Ohio State has been after Grimes for the entirety of his recruitment, the school was never viewed to be in the driver’s seat. Instead, the betting favorite to land Grimes today is North Carolina.

Grimes is the latest addition to what's shaping up to be a stellar recruiting class for coach Mack Brown. He is the 17th commitment in the Tar Heels' class of 2021, and the first five-star prospect. They also have 11, four-star players in the 247Sports Composite. They now rank No. 4 in the team recruiting rankings behind Ohio State, Clemson and Tennessee.

Actually, they are right now #3 in the 247 composite rankings, 0.39 points ahead on #4 Tennessee (259.73 vs 259.34).
