Tom Herman (Former Head Coach FAU Owls)

I'd still like the hire either way. Not many knew who Dan Mullens & Charlie Strong were before their stints on Urban's staff.

I would be very comfortable if Herman were given that title...let's face it this is UFM's show anyways. But I like what I hear coming out of Herman and have been impressed with his results given where he was coaching.

On top of that I'd assume this would avoid having to look for a new OC as rapidly as we might have to if Studrawa or Morris were hired, as they're already being considered for HC jobs as it is.

I'm interested to read up more on Herman now . I know he was able to get alot out of his QB's, including a rsFR last season.

I think the greedy side of us all want Herman to only be the QB Coach and to bring in some more great Coaches. But, I think he sounds more than capable of being Urban's right hand man. Great hire, exciting times at OSU.

Don't get me wrong, Coach Herman is a definite rising star and has built a resume' that definitely warrants an opportunity at OC. However, the fact that he has not been mentioned by ANYONE before his hiring leads me to believe this is position only....perhaps even an 'OC in waiting' situation if the incoming OC is on the brink of getting a HC spot sooner than later.

The days of having minimal staff turnover in Columbus are likely over.
