2. a gratuity or tip.
3. an unexpected or indirect benefit.

Also, la?gnappe.

[Origin: 1840?50, Americanism; < LaF < AmerSp la ?apa the addition, equiv. to la fem. definite article + ?apa, var. of yapa < Quechua: that which is added]

I doubt anyone for either team would if at the beggining of the season would have been told, "your team is going to end up 10-2 or 11-3, conference champs" wouldn't say "hell yeah!!" Maybe more for LSU but still...

For what it is worth. LSU is SEC champs which is decided on the field in head-to-head matchup. The National Championship game is a popularity contest. The figure skating selection process of who gets a shot at the crystal sucks. Historically, SEC schools look to that championship before the NC. I will never say that an SEC championship is not a worthy accomplishment.

Please explain where is that different than what any other team does ? other than the fact there is the SEC involved?

The season is a conference playoff that ends in a championship game. The top two teams clash every year to determine the SEC championship. There will never be a situation when a 11-0 UGA will not play 11-0 LSU to resolve any doubts of who is champion. Co-championships suck... I wish the Big 10, PAC 10, and BIG EAST had a conference championship game.

Mr. Byrd should try rehearsing his smack talk, he sounded like someone quietly insulting his massive older brother, hoping he didn't hear him.

BTW, who were all of these all-americans that Byrd has faced as a #2 WR? How many has Doucet faced for that matter?

To be fair the conference championship games were created for one reason and one reason only. Increased revenue.

It was NOT done in the spirit of fair play so the SEC and B12 could hold their heads up high and say it was settled on the field in a manner more sporting than thou.

The BE and Pac 10 play a complete schedule iirc, everyone plays everyone.

LOL, yes I agree that was one reason, but why not put the top two teams in the Big 10 to face each other on the final day of the season?

b/c CCG's fail as often as they succeed. Teams like Colorado (or a number of other examples) do not deserve a shot at the BCS.

Add one more team and get to playing Dec 1...
Why? Point out what years the b10 crowned the wrong team #1. A 7-4 FSU team gets a CCG berth after a 3 game losing streak :slappy: A 7-4 Colorado team showing up for it's annual beatdown? They didn't even finish with a winning record.

We make our money by putting 2 teams in the BCS more often. The SEC makes theirs by having a CCG. Thats all its about it has nothing to do with fans, being fair or having an on the field champ.
