2026 TN QB Jared Curtis (Georgia Decommit)

My worry, is that bringing in Curtis or Smigel is like wasting a schollie, because Idk if either comes in wanting to sit for at least 2yrds. If Sayin wins the job this season, then he has the job in '25 and '26. After that, there will be a competition, but let's be honest, TSC will have a bulk of the reps, and he will be quite favored(I'd see a 60-40 rep breakdown). I don't think either '26 QB being fine with sitting for almost 4yrs before playing when most programs who have offered them would play them by year 2.
This is similar to the WR situation, there's a problem in having too much talent. Players will hit the Portal. The 2021 WR class had 1 guy who was a generational talent, and another who was one of the best WRs in OSU history, 2022 couldn't see the field even when they had a year in college. And then when the 2023 WR class hit the campus, they were so good that they nullified the entire 2022 class. When JJ SMith hit college(along with Graham), he forced the rest of the 2022 class out of OSU. There's so much talent in the WR room, that HS WRs are looking elsewhere because they know they can't crack the 2 deep for 2-3yrs. That would happen to the QBs, IMO. Sayin was the #1 QB in '24, TSC was a top 2 in '25, and then there's Edmunds in '27 who's currently the #2 QB. That's a TON of talent! And no matter how confident a player is, realism has to set in. Give me the Moeller kid(if he chooses football), Nathan Bernhard, or a MW kid who's fine with being a depth piece. I'd be fine if that kid is even alright with leaving as an upperclassmen. But I just don't see any of the high ranked QBs choosing OSU in 2026.

Sorry for the long post
I've had the same thought on landing a top notch QB in '26 that is sandwiched between TSC and Edmonds. But considering Edmonds could change his mind and injuries happen, you definitely take either of the guys we're mentioning. Difference is you just can't break open the NIL bank big time and you have to think other schools probably will. At least that's what I would think.
