Better luck next year. Sorry to hear it all fell apart.
Keep training.

Actually, the swim and transitions were improved from my previous four Tinmans, especially the transitions considering they lengthened the T1 (swim to bike) transition by a good 100+ yards (fuckers). The bike portion was not bad (the time was worse than it felt), but the run just killed me like always. As soon as I got off the bike for the T2 (bike to run) transition, I knew my legs weren't going to cooperate. Anyone who has run any significant distance race and has "bonked" knows what I mean. No matter how much I forced my legs to run they just did not want to comply. Took me 1:24:34 to "run" 6 miles...oh well, got my Finishers T-shirt. :smash:

Our friend who participated in the Xterra as a amatuer, said the beach run did her in. She got passed on the beach run and finished second in her age group 42-45. Not bad for a mother of 2! :tongue2:
Scary little woman who skis with the big boys off the Taos Ski Valley ridge line(a 500ft hike) at 12,000ft!

just checked the results and Milly finished #26 out of 31 in the Male 50-54 age group.

Milly is 50 years old.

That means four guys in my group still finished behind me, despite my trainwreck of a run (if you can call taking an hour and 24 minutes to go 6 miles a "run"). A decent run (10:00 mile pace) and I'm in the middle of the pack. Still, for someone who trained only four months, and not year-round like many do, just to finish isn't too bad.

Am I somewhat disappointed in my overall time? Yeah. Will some dipshit who gets winded walking to the 7-11 for his slurpee fix going to make me fell worse? Not hardly...
