So I'm locked in for two years with RR Standard. She tried to pitch me an upgrade to RR Turbo.

I asked her if I could lock in my current 2 year contract with RR standard, then try adding RR Turbo for a month (since it is $10 extra) to see if the speed increase actually matches the advertised numbers. I wanted to try out the $10 add on down the road and potentially remove it afterwards.

I'm sorry sir, if you downgrade your account, that is considered breaking your contract. Even though my contract is for RR standard? Yes.

:shake: It's going to be a real pleasure doing business with this company. No way around it though.

Trust me, jwins, you do not look forward to dealing with TWC billing department. Though my home ISP is WOW, I had to use TWC for RoadRunner service at commercial property I owned. When I sold the property, responsibility for the account transferred to the buyer. TWC is still calling me with questions about how they can reach the buyer. Every time they call, I say, "Check the phone book."

Sale closed 4 months ago.

 Nice. I fully expect to bolt the instant the contract is up.

By contrast, directv has been a pleasure to deal with on a few issues. I am sure I will be back to them eventually, once ESPN3 is sorted out with the various Isp blackout.

OK, minor jealousy right here, I'll admit it.

Time Warner actually has wideband internet available in the Cincy market now - advertised 50 Mbps/5Mbps for $100/mo. That's a bit excessive for my needs, but I imagine it's pretty awesome if you're a gamer of have a ton of simultaneous connections.
