Time Warner - Epitome of Customer Care

Watson, Crick & A Twist
Yes - Time-Warner Cable's Cares for it's customers, in fact it's customer service will blow you way; unless, that is, you lose your 9-year old set-top boxes to a Tornado.

Tornado Victim Billed for Cable Boxes

WHEATLAND, Wis. - Having a tornado demolish her home was bad enough. But when Ann Beam received a $2,000 cable bill a few weeks later, she was floored. "I just couldn't believe it," Beam said. "I was like, 'What are they thinking?'"
Time Warner Cable billed a number of Wheatland residents for equipment destroyed in the Jan. 7 twister that struck the southeast corner of the state. Beam's bill covered five cable boxes and five remote controls.
She immediately called the cable company, but a man who identified himself as a manager said there was nothing the company could do.
"They said I would have to take the bill and turn it in to my insurance company," Beam said.
But her cable equipment was nine years old, and the insurance company would pay only a depreciated value that wouldn't cover her bill, she said.
Time Warner Cable spokeswoman Celeste Flynn said many customers got charged for unreturned equipment because they canceled or transferred their service without mentioning their requests were tornado-related.

I am banned for TWC for the reason that they came, got their damned box, then told me they didn't and tried to charge me 700, I fought with them but they took it to collections, it's still on my credit report, fuck them, Directv got a customer that way.

I couldn't be happier with my service from WOW. Towards the end of football season I had a spokeswoman from Time Warner come to my door trying to get me to switch over to them. When I told her I wasn't interested, she asked, "you're not interested in saving money?" I told her no. I have the Big Ten Network, I'm happy. To which she responded, "But there is only one more game on the Big Ten Network." I simply said, "I still have basketball season." And slammed the door. And besides, you don't even save money. It might be cheaper with their first 3 months deals, but after that, the monthly prices sky rocket.

Many of us have had sat tv for a while and I have heard very few complaints. The picture makes any tv look better.
(You need to get that dish coated with some silicon before winter! A coating of ice/snow will kill your service.) And the occasional downpour will temporally disrupt service.

TW sucks. I feel no sympathy for anyone that uses them, if they have other options. Dish and DirecTV are both so much better than TW.

DTv has great customer service. I had a problem once with service (which turned out to be from my end not theirs) and they offered to drop $10 a month off for a year.
