Heisman provides Tebow broader audience for message of faith

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida quarterback Tim Tebow took the microphone, scanned the 14 rows of grim-faced men sitting in folding metal chairs and recognized the familiar hue of blue.

"How many Gator fans do we have in the house today?" Tebow asked.

After more than half the men raised their hands, Tebow added, "All right, those who didn't raise their hands, that's who I'm preaching to today."

On a balmy Saturday morning in mid-April -- the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback's first weekend away from the bright spotlight of Florida football -- Tebow had never seemed more comfortable.

Of course Tebow is now comfortable with a microphone. After his experience over Spring Break in the Philippines, he's quite the cut-up. :wink2:

During spring break, Tebow added a new facet to his fame. In an impoverished village outside General Santos City in the Philippines, Tebow helped circumcise impoverished children.

Looking back at the first few pages of the this thread, I didn't realize that Tebow's recruitment was close race. For some reason I was under the impression that he was a done deal with UF the minute Meyer got there.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it's quite entertaining to read posts from 3-4 years ago. "Look out! Jevan Snead committed to UF! JT visited the Tebow houshold! No, stupid Gator fan, he's not going to Florida! How are you so sure?!"

One things for sure, this guy lived up to, and exceded the hype. Not a whole lot of folks can do that.

That's all right though. There was no need to pursue Tebow hard and give him the full court press, we got Henton, our #1 QB.

:bonk:

...and to be fair he is going to make a better NFL fullback than Dan Kendra.
If Terrelle Pryor dominates like Tebow but has to switch to WR in the NFL, I bet you'll laugh at weak smack like that from SC, UM & SEC fans who lost to him. No I'm not guaranteeing victory, simply extending the hypothetical.
