Properly the "Lombardi Trophy" is for the Super Bowl winner, and the Lombardi Award is, I think, the award this question concerns.

True. It's called the Rotary Lombardi Award.

But since the Super Bowl trophy wasn't called the Lombardi Trophy until 1971, after Stillwagon won his award, nobody could have identified a tOSU player on an early Super Bowl winner and claimed that he won a 'Lombardi' before Stillwagon. :wink2:
