In 1942, tOSU did defeat Fort Knox 59-0 on Sept. 26th, and were #1 in the first AP poll of the year, but the poll wasn't taken until Oct 12th.

tOSU won no games as an AP #1 team in 1961 and the same in 1979 (only AP #1 was after the TSUN game, before the Rose Bowl).

In 1998, the largest shutout was 49-0 against Toledo.
