Correct.

Allow me to get on my Buckeye high horse.

Neil Johnston led the NBA in scoring for 3 straight years, from '52-'53 until '54-55, all with the Philadelphia Warriors. He won a title with them in '56.

In '54-55, Johnston led the NBA in both scoring and rebounding. The MVP award wasn't given until the next season, so he didn't win one, and his historical legacy was limited by not having won the MVP. He is in the Hall-of-Fame, but he should have been named one of the NBA 50 greatest players of the league's first 50 years, and I think he wuold have been if the MVP award had started 1 year earlier.
