I don't like the diet other than the fact that is pisses of the PETA people, but now this lo carb crap has gone to far. I world without Twinkies? Ring Dings? I read this today in the WSJ.

This company has been slowly marching toward bankruptcy for years. I am sure Atkins just sped up the process.

To me this is less troubling than the decline in beer sales.
I guess I am not a twinkie or wonder bread man.

Be careful there my friend. Tobacco and cigarette sales pump a huge amount of tax dollars into each state.

I sell software and many of my customers handle these products. Between WalMart and the government you are looking at putting 1200 companies out of business.

The funniest thing I've ever seen regarding the Atkins diet is at our local Kroger. At the pharmacy, they have a bookshelf. On the bookshelf are copies of Atkins' book about his diet. Right next to those are books on reversing heart disease. :)

All they need to do is design a Twinkie with no carbs that tastes the same. That would be a gold mine. On the other hand I love Twinkies, but haven't had one in years.

When generic cupe cakes taste as good as their more expensive brand, you know trouble is comming... I hope the generic's don't raise their prices.

I wonder if a takeout firm will take the gamble that this atkins fad will die off and they will be able to buy a great brand name for pennies on the dollar...

I used to smoke and I am the proverbial "Ex-smokers are the worst". My wife still smokes. I smell it on my kids, on me and in the cars and house. It makes me ill to smell it now.

Wonder bread should have done a better job adjusting to the low-carb trend. This will be another case study in Roger Blackwell's class. Adapt or else.
