This is getting old....really!

As Ahnold would say: "Gettout!"

Four and a half to five days if it is on track - I will.

I wait until the last possible time, and take the backroads NEVER getting on the Interstate. Otherwise you sit in traffic and use up time, gas and overheat the engine.

My favorite back roads route is only for storms coming from the east, as I go south instead of north before I head up, and nobody is going that way. A westerly storm can flood highway 90 and make you get stuck on the highway. I won't do that. I throw the "Scout Box" on the platform that goes in my trailer hitch, and so if all else fails, I can put up tents and hang out in some campground until we find a motel.

Given enough years of practice, we really do have it down to a science.

I heard a rumor LoKy invited his Mother-In-Law down 2 days before Fay arrived!?!

the bitch will be here this weekend... too late for Fay. But maybe her plane will get blown out of the sky by this one.

Gustov is going to be a bitch where ever it hits... all that time over the gulf... it will feed on the warm water like Charlie Weis at a pie eating contest.

While I want it to miss me, I don't want it to go to the poor folks who got Rita...and if it is west of me and comes east, that is my worst case scenario.

For Rita, I got 27" of water, and that bitch hit a good bit West of me.
If this thing passes anywhere between here and the State line, I'm phucked.

This will be my 1st evacuation if it happens. I've always stayed behind to help my dad tend to my grandfather (he was 86 when Katrina and Rita hit), who was too old and sickly to evacuate.
He passed away this past January, so I have no real reson to stay behind now.

So, instead of just packing up the wife and kids, and shipping them away, I'm going with them.

I'm off to buy supplies today. I have plenty of gas, water, food and batteries. Need some LPG for the grill and some ammo. The chain saw and generator are ready. Not sure if I will leave or stay.

New Orleans hosts the decadence festival this weekend, the gay mardi gras, this could get interesting.

Someone somewhere will get hit hard by this one.

Track moving eastward now. If it goes this direction, I'll be on the "good" side of it. But where it's supposed to be Monday AM is only a couple hundred miles from me at most, so that leaves very little room for error.

But seriously, if Hurricane Gustov holtz it's current trajectory, it'll be a classical case of a gulf-coast disaster. Pres. Bush couldn't planet any better.
