Okay, I'm going to vent a little bit. I'm 33 years old, and I've now lived in Columbus 18 years and Cleveland 15. First off, I'd like to say that Columbus beats Cleveland hands down.
One of the things that I've always found humorous is the Clevelanders dislike for Columbus. It was like they feel like Cleveland is the big brother, but now it's all grown up and here comes little brother Columbus. It's hitting its growth spirt and all of a sudden little brother is bigger, tougher, and cooler than big brother Cleveland. So, like all big brothers, Cleveland tries to knock little brother down a peg or two with public humiliation. There were the knocks on the Bucks during the Cooper years, or the Blue Jackets sucking, or the O'Brien mess, or anything else. But, when little brother succeeds, Cleveland jumps on board with "we were in your corner all along, little bro!" It happened in 2002 after Michigan, after the Feista Bowl, and now after this Michigan game. Well, where were you in the tough times, Cleveland??? Go find someone else's bandwagon to jump on.
But, what I've always taken pride in is Columbus-ers relative carefree attitude towards Cleveland. If big brother doesn't like me, who cares? I'll still go out and kick ass, and Cleveland can go screw themselves. I'm above stooping to their level. I'm not going to knock on how stupid and fickle their fans are, or how immature the bottle throwing incident is, or how fat Drew Carey is, or how crappy some of their slums are. That kind of stuff is below me........at least I used to think that....until I read this thread.
