Too soon old, too late smart
Thought that what land grant meant. You graduate, you get in. Of course the flunk out courses were there, and skinnied down those huge classes. Went to Miami U undergrad (tOSU MBA), and they could legally limit, due to dorm issues, and lack of outside apt rentals in Oxford. Columbus didn't have those restrictions. Now, there are GPA, writing etc, and apt restrictions. Maybe younger generation is smarter than we were/are? Provisional acceptance to the outer campuses. If do well, can move on up to main campus. Meanwhile, the very best uni's are still in the 4-5% acceptance rates, but other schools are empty, and/or failing. Interesting.
