The Police - in concert

They played nothing but Police tunes...no solo Sting stuff.

Very cool. They have enough in their own catalog that it would be a shame to leave something out to do solo work.

For you political folks, Andy Summers was wearing an Obama badge...seriously.

That doesn't bother me in the least. If anything I'd say that's exactly how to go about it.

Showing support for your candiate is fine...it's when artists turn a performance into a bully pulpit that annoys me.

Dance for my entertainment monkeys!! That's what you're paid for.

Yep, no mention whatsoever about politics or anything, they just jammed for about two hours. Aside from his wearing an Obama button, I saw nothing at all political during the whole time there aside from one older black lady wearing an Obama T-shirt.

I need to pop that Fictionplane CD into my PC...those kids fucking rocked.

OK, I took the best pics from the 23 that I took (keep in mind I used a 4 1/2 year-old Nikon Coolpix 3100 to take these). A couple of them came out fairly decent:

I was the most impressed with drummer Stewert Copeland. He showed the most energy of three and genuinely seemed to enjoy himself.

Just got home from the Columbus show, and I have to agree that Stewart seemed to give the most. His percussion on Wrapped Around Your Finger was phenomenal - by far the highlight of the evening for me. All in all, though, these guys still put on a hell of a show. Better than I expected, despite the fact that Sting seemed to have a slight cough.

Elvis Costello did a nice job opening, too.

I was at the Columbus show, and it was awesome despite Stings voice troubles. (as peach noted above)

They are one of the bands that (up to last night) I hadn't seen that I really wanted to.

Stewart Copeland was all that. He played his ass off and did it with a smile on his face. They played Every Breath You Take in the encores, but the rest of the show was so damn good, I don't think the audience would have cared if they left it off their set.

Now I have "Can't Stand Losing You" earwormed.

The Police concert was awesome!! For a 3-man band, the volume of sound was pretty astonishing! All three of them showed why they are rated and thought of as top musicians in their own right. Great bass & vocals, lead & rhythm guitars and not to forget the terrific drums & percussion. Also, I thought that the show was very well choreographed....an important ingredient to a live concert! I agree that Stewart Copeland kindda stole the show!
