Is that the attempt to troll Ohio State fans saying that Urban has been a disappointment going 61-6 in five seasons, with an undefeated season and a Natty under his belt? Just curious, I didn't click.
I figure Pawl was using the fact that Urban has only 1 B1G title to his name, which, considering that OSU has been the clear top of the league is pretty remarkable. Still, if it were the "old rules" (which is to say, prior to divisions and the championship game) OSU would have 5 B1G titles under Urban, although some of them would have been shared.I've got 2015 MSU game and not winning the NC that year as the only thing that I would consider even remotely related to "underachieved" under Meyer.
2013 and 2016 teams were flawed. Sitting around projecting NC's for them in your head is a stretch imo.
obviously no complaints about '12 and '14
'15 should have won the NC. I say that with no qualms, that was a miss.
Let's see how he makes it up to us in '17 before we write Urban off as "underachieving"
2015. Hard to say we underachieved. It's hard to repeat. It's also hard when you have changes to coordinators. Yes, we had talent, but with all the other factors, I wasn't surprised and didn't expect another natty.I've got 2015 MSU game and not winning the NC that year as the only thing that I would consider even remotely related to "underachieved" under Meyer.

In 2010, no one knew Sparty would have a magical run from 2013-15. That appears to be over and they should sink back to a middle of the pack program. They built those teams as m*ch*g*n was down and they were equaling them in in-state recruiting. They don't have that advantage now with the harbrau. Add in the loss of the architect of some nasty defenses (Narduzzi), and they are likely back to "Sparty-being Sparty." On top of that, Ped Aggy came out of nowhere last year. But, I'm not convinced that wasn't a fluke yet. They had a lot of lucky bounces go their way, and they aren't sneaking up on anyone this year. If not for the post-season ban in 2012, there's another appearance for tOSU.If, in 2010. you had bet me that together Ohio State and Michigan would have only two appearances in the Big Ten CG I would have laughed in your face.
Agreed, but if, in 2010, I bet you that Ohio State and Michigan would combine for only two appearances in the BTCG in the next 6 years, would you have put money on the table? In 2010, no one knew Sparty would have a magical run from 2013-15. In short, it was the culmination of a lot of unusual events that led to that little oddity.
Adding Michigan 2010 to the equation is the same as adding zero, Cinci.Agreed, but if, in 2010, I bet you that Ohio State and Michigan would combine for only two appearances in the BTCG in the next 6 years, would you have put money on the table?
In 2010, scUM was a dumpster fire under dickrod. Then they hired that oaf a week into 2011. So, at the time, thinking they would make zero appearances? I would have taken that bet. If you would have told me that tOSU would only make 1, especially with Urban freakin' Meyer, I'd be very surprised. But given what I explained above, it's not too shocking in retrospect. Over the next 5-6 years, I expect it to be largely tOSU/scUM-centric, provided the harbrau doesn't totally flame out...which isn't as far fetched as some may think.Agreed, but if, in 2010, I bet you that Ohio State and Michigan would combine for only two appearances in the BTCG in the next 6 years, would you have put money on the table?
No argument here. The point is that the two all time premier programs of Big Ten football have not dominated the conference CG (yet). One hasn't even made the CG. The other has only been there twice and is 1 and 1.In 2010, scUM was a dumpster fire under dickrod. Then they hired that oaf a week into 2011.
