The Ohio State University Marching Band (TBDBITL)

It was a historic day for The Pride of the Buckeyes, whose last experience in Happy Valley was far from perfect. That last trip was in 2005 when multiple band members claimed they were struck with flying objects thrown by Penn State fans in Beaver Stadium.

'Script Ohio' got booed? Yep, Penn State fans hated it

I really liked it how you could see the imprint of the Script Ohio on the field during the game.

FWIW, I didn't think they (Ohio State Athletic Band) was as good as the Ohio State Marching Band.

Athletic Band

The Ohio State University Athletic Band performs at various Ohio State varsity sporting events during the autumn and spring semesters, with the exception of fall football games. The number of participants in Athletic Band each semester varies between 250-300 members.

Unlike the Marching Band, the Athletic Band includes all brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. Athletic Band is an open-enrollment ensemble, meaning anyone is welcome to participate.

Although a form of the Athletic Band has been around since the 1940s, the modern Athletic Band was started in 1996 under the direction of Dr. Jon R. Woods. Among the highlights of the Athletic Band are marching full pregame and halftime shows at the annual Spring Game, performing Script Ohio on Ice at one hockey game per semester and performing Script Ohio on court during a spring-semester basketball game.

WOW! Didn't realize that tOSU had a marching band that included woodwinds....Was gonna ask Jake how he photoshopped that pic, until read Script's post. Would imagine the 'expanded' band includes woodwinds as a concert band sorta thing. (Having played saxophone, kinda sensitive to those things). Not as big a sound as the all brass variety, but fills in the upper and lower registers with a more rounded sound. Another unknown pearl of tOSU for certain.
