New coach, Kirin Kumar from Miami (the classy one), hired.
I know nothing about her but seeing them have 160 HRs this season is....prettttty, prettttty cool.

Well see how she recruits the state of Ohio. We just played in Div 1 state championship this past weekend so we saw a ton of talent (on our squad too) and none of it was committed to OSU. Our last 3 games the opp starting pitchers were

Regional championship vs Lancaster - LSU (#2 going to Toledo)
State semifinals vs Anthony Wayne - ttun (#2 going to ND)
State championship vs Austintown Fitch - GA Tech

Our team had 4 div 1 commits. All 4 would play at OSU no doubt
Mich St
Ohio
BG
Houston

So it sounds like you are lukewarm on this hire, there may have been better options out there?

I think on paper it's a decent hire but she HAS to keep some top end talent home. It's ridiculous the amount of girls who leave the state for ttun, ND, etc...
If they're leaving for tcun or the domers, then she absolutely should be competitive. If they're leaving for warm weather programs, though, I'm not sure how much you can do. Not a single cold weather team made the Super Regionals this year. First priority, I think, should be getting as much of that offensive firepower that she attracted to Fredo into the portal. Poach away, babe.

I agree it's hard vs warm weather but that's the trick, soo many are leaving for ttun,ND, nw, mich st, etc. Our catcher is headed to Ohio U and she would murder the B1G. Only reason she's headed there is she absolutely loves the coach and staff in Athens
