The Masters Tournament 2010

OK, call me a homer. If he keeps his nerves, and he didn't the last six holes at the Arnold Palmer, then he is in the zone to win it. And he wants it bad.

Downside, he's emotionally fragile. If Tiger is playing him head to head and gets an early shot or two, it probably will not end well for him.

Couples is actually playing very well right now. 4 events on the Champions Tour, and 3 wins is incredible. He is averaging 280 off the tee. The PGA Tour average is 280 right now, so he is right there. Unfortunately I'm not sure average will get it done on the new Augusta National. That course is a monster now. It is 7430 yards!

Would love to see Freddie win again. He is my second favorite golfer.

He is my second favorite golfer as well in the era I was able to watch it live and remember it. I'm too young to witness Jack live but naturally he would be my favorite. Greg Norman is another favorite of mine.
One of my favorite things about majors and especially The Masters is watching the coverage around happy hour on Thursday (or even a lil earlier  and just looking at the leader board to see who's out front early and then discussing that with friends or whatnot and having all that excitement for the weekend. It's always an early weekend for me for The Masters.

I follow it very closely early as well. For our Masters pool here at work, you have to pick 10 guys (no Tiger), catch is their scores only count if they make the cut. This will be my 4th masters pool and so far no one has ever had all 10 make the cut.

Ernie as noted is playing well and Phil always seems to find a way to contend at the Masters. Freddy, I would love to see win but I just don't think he can compete over the long haul with his putting. I have a feeling that Kim, Stricker, Furyk, and Oglivy will challenge, but in the end Tiger will win this event......

A little Master's theme music to get you ready for the par-3 contest later today.

I didn't even know there were words to the song. Just found this one...

1963 -- Jack Nicklaus, 23, becomes the youngest golfer to win the Green Jacket at the Masters.

Jack Nicklaus is THE Master...6 wins, 4 seconds, 15 top 5s, he was the youngest winner AND the oldest winner for the longest time...

One day away.

I'm excited because AT&T U-Verse has some crazy Masters coverage. Like 4 or 5 channels (HD!) devoted to Amen Corner, certain groups, bonus coverage, etc. Should be a fun weekend.

DirecTV has the same thing. Also of note, for iPhone users you can download the Masters app. It has live streaming coverage, along with interviews and scoring updates.

Its slow at work, so I was sitting here watching Zach Johnson hit some balls on the driving range.

I enjoy the Par 3 challenge they do every Weds before The Masters. It's a family atmosphere with kids caddying for their dads, etc... Most of the players let their caddy's putt for them on some holes. Jack, Arnie, and Gary are in a threesome, Jack is striking the ball well.
