Playing Sunday I missed the 9th green and ended up in one of the green side bunkers. I had a pretty crappy lie--ball well below my feet, to make matters worse I was short-sided and the break ran away from me. Needless to say, I hit a poor shot. I was disappointed and after exiting the bunker I took my wedge and hit my shoes, much like I do every time I exit a bunker--however this time, I took out some frustration. A little too much frustration, I ended up bending the shaft right below the ferrule. Ended up playing the rest of the round without a 58*--highest loft was 53*.

So after this I decided to pick up all new wedges. I bought a 52,56 and 60 Titleist TVD wedges from Titleist wedgeworks. I hopefully get them next week--Ill post a pic when they arrive.

as i was reading this i was expecting you to say you missed the bottom of your shoe and hit your ankle instead. i have seen that happen, and it isn't pretty.

Well, Nike is fixing my driver for me, but they said 2-4 weeks. Argh.

Went out Monday with my dad and brothers, really struggled off the tee, ended up shooting an 85. 41 on the back, thanks in large part to some great short play. No 3 putts, one 60 yard hole-out (Hit a 60* wedge, one hop past the hole and backed up in), and several chip shots within a foot.

I'm hoping to get out again this weekend, but it sucks not having the driver.

Looking at picking up an R11 S after having a buddy hit my 10-year old Taylormade 300 Ti yesterday at a scramble and him telling me it was deader than a doornail.

My question is this, I hit on a launch monitor at Dick's and hit an R11 S and my average clubhead speed was around 115 mph which puts me on the borderline of an S-Flex (stiff) and an x-flex (super stiff). I'm thinking about going with the S-flex because as I get older, my club head speed will decrease and figured even though an X-flex may work now, it will not be ideal in the future.

I just wish the R11 came with a black club head. HATE the white club heads.

I think the common thought is to always got with the lower flex, when right in the middle.

My clubs member/member tournament started yesterday. My partner and I won both matches this weekend, advancing to the championship match next Saturday.

I just recently went to stiff on all my woods (9.5-driver, 4-fairway, 4-hybrid). I love the feel. I don't think my swing speed is much more than yours, Thump.

Also switched to a yellow Srixon last weekend for three 9-holes matches last weekend. Went 2-1 (should have been 2-0-1 at worst, but let's not get me started on that) and really liked the feel of the ball. Great overall playability. More action than I am used to...I felt like I could hit it straighter when I wanted to but could also shape shops when necessary. Really liked the feel around the green as well. I think it is called the Q-Star. Visually, I'm not sure if helped that much but in the end I am at least going to play out these dozen.
