THE GAME: ttun @ tOSU, Sat Nov 26, 12pm, FOX

Only other thing I will say is this. In Days defense, the team is decimated with injuries at almost every position. That's all he gets.

He MUST look at the training staff and maybe the practice field to see if they can reduce injures to 5 star ballers. No team in the nation is this hurt. Period.

Also he must must must get a new seconday/corners coach. Those are mega recruits that have new once gotten their heads around to look at the ball. We had to have the most offensive pass interference call in the country. And most were 100% the right calls.
They didn't have their best offensive or defensive players.

Want to hear nothing about injuries. We straight up got dominated.

Great QBs make their receivers not the other way around, and I think CJ is the other way around type.

Maybe. A lot of it rests on his head. I don't think he's wrong to have lost trust in some guys. He's definitely going to struggle next year in the NFL if he can't learn to let it rip. Way too hesitant.

Florida lost to FSU in late 1996 in the “Echo of the whistle” game. Our QB was slaughtered when a stubborn Spurrier refused to go to the shotgun - even though we clearly could not stop FSU defensive pressure. It seemingly took us out of the championship race because Spurrier refused to adjust to game conditions and stuck with what was in his mind.

The Ole Ball Coach thought hard about it when we got a rematch to the Sugar Bowl. Thanks to the Buckeyes’ win in the Rose Bowl we played the Noles again for the national championship. Amazingly, Spurrier revamped his whole offense with Danny Wuerffel in the shotgun. With the extra seconds the shotgun gave Danny, he read his progressions and we beat FSU by 32 points for the national championship.

if Woody was correct, and I believe he was, you had one of those soul cleansing moments. If Day is half the coach I think he is, he will reevaluate and adjust going forward. Even legendary coaches need a butt whipping sometimes. We’ll see what Day does.

Hope you're right. I thought he was a hell of a coach. Still think he has it in him to be great, but this has really put a dent in that. Last year was a different team, but this year...this was the team you'd want going into the season. And they've steadily regressed after the bye.

Day needs to look long and hard at himself. This year he repeatedly made things hard to prove we could rather then playing to his teams strengths. So what if you're not a run on 3rd and 2 team. Do what is more likely to be successful not make things difficult to prove we could

Day has some similarities to Kevin Stefanski - trying to prove how smart you are and sometimes overlooking the obvious decisions. Keeping it simple is often the best choice. The bubble screens and pitches were not very successful this year due to our lack of WR/TE blocking, but we kept on it a bit more than we should have when we had success in other areas.

I'd just love the next time we complain about genuine concerns, i.e. offensive play calling and the lack of adjustments, that it doesn't get met with a chorus of "Oh, are you smarter than the coaches?", "what's your resume look like?!"

As a former coach, you get sucked into a vacuum and can often lose the mile high view that you can get from a TV on the couch. Coaches are people, people make mistakes, and sometimes people make the same mistake over and over.

11-1 and beating Penn State and Notre Dame is still a good year, just not a great year.

Unfortunately, like last year, go win the Rose Bowl, finish 12-1, and try to salvage what you can. If we would have said you'd have no JSN all year and only half of a Henderson, this wouldn't be a terribly surprising outcome. We should have done better today, Knowles and Day should have been better....Knowles has some leeway after the massive improvements we've seen and with none of "his" guys. Day doesn't have the same leash.....I'm no where near the 'Fire Day, hire Fickell' camp, but at the end of the day you have 2 jobs as OSU head coach...1) Beat Michigan, 2) Win the Big Ten. That's all you control, and we failed again.

Congrats to Michigan, a well deserved win for a team that had plenty of excuses and used none of them in once again being the more physical team on both sides of the ball.

With all due respect, a loss to TSUN, no B1G championship, and most likely no CFP berth does not make it a "good" year in any criteria.

Yep. Even then....

What you want Georgia in the first round?
I just named 5 game changers that are beat to hell. I said all year no one can beat this team when healthy. Well this is the most injury plagued year I can remember. I am devastated by the loss. And some of the issues demand immediate attention, but I am proud of the boys playing hard for the Scarlet and Grey. Broken bones all over the place and still grinding.. Breaks my heart their season is over

I agree with the Stafanski view.

I do know that Day copied McVay's offense with the Rams when he initially took over and his playcalling mirrors McVay's (with the Rams).

You don't get rewarded with a playoff bid after crapping your pants against your rival. I don't care about scenarios. Fuck all of it. They do not deserve a shot at a NC in any way, shape, or form.

praying for USC and TCU to win out. I don’t want to have to see Day get pantsed by UGA in the semi final. No no no.
