The original rule was written so badly, that if Indiana hadn’t been able to play Rutgers or Penn State earlier, these scenarios would be in play:

If this weekend also had the Indiana-Purdue, Sparty-Penn St, and Maryland-Rutgers games cancelled, they would have had to go to a 4-way tiebreaker among these 2-4 teams to send to the CCG: Sparty, Rutgers, Penn State, and TTUN (Penn St would win the tiebreak). Or if they played two games this weekend and Rutgers beat Maryland and Sparty beat Penn State, 3-4 Rutgers would have gone to the CCG. If Rutgers lost to Maryland, the Sparty-Penn St winner would have gone to Indy. Just think about those scenarios, none of which would have removed the 6-game minimum.

The utter lunacy of the rule as it was written cannot be overstated, and that should be part of the rationale in revising it.

Well at least the B1G made the right decision there. I still hope we are persistent in trying to get scUM to play The Game at some point, but have little-to-no hope there. In any event @Don Muenz you are right, we really do need to try and get a replacement game if we can. Get some more reps and keep building on the momentum we gained against Sparty.
