The Game: ttun at tOSU, Dec. 12 (cancelled by cowardly Vulvarines)

I’m still almost completely without words about this entire situation.

The only thing I can take away from this as a positive is the fact that, in light of their excuse and other teams traveling with severely reduced squads, makes it all the more apparent that they tapped out before the bell. The long term impact this has on that program will ultimately be greater than a 100-0 score would have been.

They will forever, across all of college football, be known for ducking out of a game. This stink goes from the locker room to the AD office.

Sell that to moms and dads around the dinner table. Even the next coaching staff will have to answer questions about ducking.

As I watched games today, what little I did, the anger just started to mount. Illinois, Vandy and LSU (just off the top of my head) showed up to play with rosters decimated by COVID. There is no way in hell tsun's was that much worse.

This needs to get documented and then beat to absolute death online, social media, sports media etc. I was actually only half heartedly believing they tapped out before today. Now it's actually sunk in that they did just fucking quit like the bitch made punks they are so they wouldn't have to take a beating.

Had the same feeling. Tried to watch the games and couldn't even remotely enjoy them knowing one of the best rivalries in sports got cancelled because of a bunch of fucking cowards up north. Do they realize we would have probably had 20+ players out with covid still with league rules? I mean, we would have still stomped them, but the excuse is fucking ridiculous. I know they won't play us, but keep extending an open invitation to play The Game and fucking humiliate them when we make even more obvious that they just didn't want to play after they continue to refuse to play.

Yes! I've thought the same... make it known we will play them after our season is over on anyday and put the heat on them to play.

Shit hopefully we win it all on January 11 provided we win our next 2 games. Then challenge them to a game on the 12th. Be ridiculous with it because they will not accept.

This might be verging into the realm of conspiracy theory, but I'm starting to think that the scUM players mutinied and refused to play The Game, and that the scUM AD/Admin looked for some sort of plausible way out of playing.

Harbaugh, for all his faults, doesn't seem like the type who would duck anybody, and an epic ass kicking would've forced scUM to fire him and pay his buy out, thereby giving him an easy way to get back into the NFL.

The COVID numbers as reported don't get scUM into cancelation range, and the squirrelly language in the scUM press releases doesn't even say how many COVIDs were in the football program in particular as opposed to the athletic department in general.

That leaves a player revolt and a cover up as the best explanation, IMHO.

I saw something like that alluded to on their boards. Makes sense. Unless, of course, they all magically show up for their next game, or when you watch LSU show up with just their freshmen and sophs.

Could be, I don't think it's too far fetched. They're getting their asses beat and the players don't seem on board at all, and that's putting it mildly. But no matter how you spin it, ttun needs brutalized next year for this and I want it to be this season. As said above, let's play in January. Or February. Who cares. You know our players will even if they won't.

Exactly. For this reason,

In 2021, The Game MUST be played at Ohio Stadium. You don't get to do a cowardly duck and then play The Ohio State University in your stadium with a crowd the next year.

Not only that, the game must be played in Ohio Stadium in 2022 also...they lose their home game as punishment but don't allow the timing of the game to be thrown off (games at Michigan in odd years, at Ohio State in even years).
