So Herbie was right?
While I think the suggestion is quite funny that they would duck, I can't see it happening. If I were to hazard a guess, cancelling UMD was done in a similar move as what I suspect we did with Illinois. That is, by canceling a meaningless game and locking things down for a bit you are likely increasing the chances that the subsequent game(s) can be played. I see this move as likely being an attempt to salvage The Game.
And again, while I do think it's funny to consider them ducking, I do think that there are enough people in that program who:
1) Respect The Game enough to not screw with it, and
2) Realize that cancelling, and being potentially seen as ducking out, may be the final body blow to a program that already has weak knees.
All in? I'm guessing that they do everything they can to show up for The Game.
