The Game, tOSU at ttun, Nov. 27th,12pm FOX (3654 down to 0)

one adjustment I noticed in the Purdue game…OSU has gone to masking their sideline signals with banners. methinks the staff discovered after PSU and tested at Corn that they were having signals stolen from the press box. coincidence that the offense has expoloded the last two weeks? maybe? I did notice in the PSU and Corn games a ton of shifting by the defense up front right at the snap and it was uncanny how often those shifts went right to the designed spot of the run/play.

Apologies if this has been discussed in another thread.

my point is that OSU is prepared. they are firing on all cylinders. the point spread is a gift from Vegas to you. Buckeyes by 28.

Please refresh my memory: Wasn't this The Game in which Beanie Wells ran for 222 yards, and Ohio State held scUM to 3 points and 91 total yards?

Oddly enough, it was indeed that Game.

The seminal broadcasting moment came on the drive where tsun kicked the FG. Herbie is orgasmic about hart's leadership, desire, toughness and will power as they are driving a short field. Herbie no more than gets the money shot out about how bad Hart wants to win and how he, Henne and Long all came back for the SR year to beat OSU, Hart carries it inside the 10....and taps out.

tsun offense goes backwards from there and kicks a FG. Game set match.

"He said everyone talks about Michigan's defensive ends but the problem is CJ Stroud has been getting the ball out at 2.1 secs."

More than that, the bucks just played against an All American end and your only heard his name in the pre-game. Michigan State was able to put pressure on McMumblenuts, but not against Stroud. Not the most confident I've felt before a game, but right up there... and I'm a perpetual pessimist.

Oh, and those two ends have to get by two good tackles and Ruckert who can put a nasty double-team whammy on you.

There's quite a few guys who have not only never been to AA but havent even played in this game (they dodged us) so it'll be interesting to me to see how they handle it. ttun will try and bait us into fights, etc. from even before the kickoff. If we handle it like a business trip this won't even be a game by the end. Don't stoop to their level. We def need our leaders to have a good handle on things

If Michigan had not mailed in their DT recruiting throughout Harbaugh's tenure, the anxiety level would be higher.

Still lots of concern for a complete front (like UGA's), our a really strong interior DL. Michigan does not have one of those

You must be mistaken good sir. I have it on good authority that tsun has not one but two scholar athletes that each weigh over 300lbs on the interior of their DL.

We all know 300 lbs is the magic number, that once it is achieved a man becomes immovable and, therefore, dominant on the football field.

According to butterfingers the ttun offense is close to our offense, their defense and ST are much better.
OFFENSE:
Ohio State: #1 (47.2 ppg)
Michigan: #15 (36.9 ppg)

DEFENSE:
Ohio State: #16 (19.0 ppg)
Michigan: #7 (16.3 ppg)

Their offense isn't "close" to ours (10.3 ppg less), and their defense is three points per game better (16.3 vs 19.0). But that includes all games including the early out of conference games. Let's just look at common opponents:

Rutgers:
Ohio State 52, Rutgers 13
Michigan 20, Rutgers 13

Nebraska:
Ohio State 26, Nebraska 17
Michigan 32, Nebraska 29

Michigan State:
Ohio State 56, Michigan State 7
Michigan State 37, Michigan 33

Indiana:
Ohio State 54, Indiana 7
Michigan 29, Indiana 7

Penn State:
Ohio State 33, Penn State 24
Michigan 21, Penn State 17

Maryland:
Ohio State 66, Maryland 17
Michigan 59, Maryland 18

We crushed three opponents while Michigan won two in normal fashion (Rutgers and Indiana) and lost one (Michigan State). Two other games (Penn State and Nebraska) we both won close games, and in the sixth game we both blew out Maryland. We beat all six common opponents by more than Michigan did...all six. The average score for the six games: Ohio State 48-14, Michigan 27-20.

And further - Troy, Braxton, JT, Haskins, and Fields would get in a rush when the bucks were on a roll and fail to spot a blindside blitz coming in big games. I haven't seen that tendency out of CJ. Or maybe Day has done a better job of protecting his QBs that Urbs or Tressell.
