The Game, tOSU at ttun, Nov. 27th,12pm FOX (3654 down to 0)

I re-watched the 2019 game.

Michigan had quite a bit of success moving the ball up and down the field, but they just could not keep up with Ohio State’s offense (which was far from perfect).

If anything, I’d say Michigan’s offense is much less dynamic this season, while Ohio State’s offense is at least as explosive if not significantly more explosive.

If Ohio State plays well, I just don’t see Michigan keeping up, even if they also play well.

Can't remember what exactly happened that had such a great defense struggling, but TTUN definitely came out with their hair on fire. Biggest threats this year, IMO, are misdirection and draws mixed in with 3-4 trick plays. Stay home and be patient.

It’s encouraging to me that Ohio State batted so many balls against MSU. McNamara gets a lot of balls tipped at the line—I’m hopeful that trend will continue.

Not sure if it was something the MSU QB struggled with, or an adjustment they made after Purdue succeeded in stifling pressure and getting the ball out quickly. Either way it's encouraging and almost as important as getting pressure and sacks.

My thought (hope) is that it is something they focused on after the Purdue game and that focus will continue.

It’s also encouraging to me that Stroud has been very capable at stepping up in the pocket. Michigan’s rush ends often take themselves right out of the play if the QB simply takes a few steps up in the pocket.
And then I think you’ll see Stroud take off and grab 7-10 yard chunks in this gaxe, especially if they play xan to xan. I believe that’s the surprise Day has for these turds.

I dont think we'll see it xuch but if he does that 1 tixe, the defense will shit itself and have no idea what to do. it'll be awesome if they play a lot of xan coverage though!

My hope is that schematically Ohio State will always have a check down for Stroud because that exact situation will likely occur frequently.

A major issue against Nebraska, from what I could tell, is that a lot of plays didn’t have a check down, which caused Stroud to force/hurry some throws deep when he felt pressure and/or rolled out..

I hope that is fixed; we have to play like we’re expecting quick pressure on every play, in my opinion, at least early in the game.
