Game Thread THE GAME: Ohio State 14, TSUN 3 (final)

A final congrats on the win gentlemen.

- I'm very, very excited to watch Chris Wells play more and more (despite that he is a Buck) and develop, and I believe I launched his Heisman candidacy for 08 somewhere on here  He is truly a freak of nature, and he's a fun one to watch. Him, Moreno and Tebow will have a sweet fight for the Heisman next year.

- Vernon Gholston, please leave for the pros. Like now. Steve Schilling will have nightmares of you forever.

- Mario Manningham, catch a fucking ball.

- Sadly (for me) we will suck something else next year. I don't think we'll be ND bad, but unless Ryan Mallett can learn to hit a wideout in stride, it could be a long, logn season.

Thanks and may I say that the fans from tsun showed the proper propriety after the game as I don't recall seeing even one of them smiling.

You know... there's always room for more Buckeye fans, you're just this close...... :wink2:

I'll leave the major breakdown to Oh8Ch, but a few thoughts...

--Tackling was night and day from last week. Id bet on a few tackling circuits last week in practice.

--Read and react vs. Blitzkrieg..seemed like over the last few weeks, we got too cute with the pressure packages and got burned. Today was straight-up see it-kill it football.

--Keep it in the hot hand...Boeckman was rattled early. Might be the weather, might be the big game, whatever...JT saw it early and did not give Todd the chance to lose the game. This kind of stuff can be frustrating as a fan occasionally, but damn, who can argue the results?

--Gholston...if he doesn't leave after today, I will be shocked. Not basing that on any inside info...just the "wow" factor. He looked amazing today.

--Fullbacks....ALL of them laid some monster shots today. Straight ISO...the very foundation of this game. I'm coming to crush you...stop me. The battering rams led the charge all day.

--Beanie...Warrior. Nuff said.

--0-4

--Lloyd--in all seriousness, enjoy retirement Coach. You did it the right and fair way...nobody can take that away from you.

From what I've seen of Mallett (other than this game and last week), I've been impressed. If he can develop the way a quarterback can (other than the way Henne did), he is going to be awesome.

I looked through a lot of this thread, and didn't see this. But maybe it's in there, anyway.

ESPN - Ohio State takes down Michigan for sixth time in seven years - NCAA College Football Recap

"We have no excuses here," Carr said. "But I think it's fair to acknowledge Chad didn't throw the ball like he has and Mike Hart was not at full speed."

If you don't have excuses, don't try to give excuses.

Absolutely amazing. This was supposed to be Michigan's year. Just like the powerful Buckeye offense from last year, Michigan was bringing everyone back and had "superstars" at all positions. What did it get them??? I'll tell you what it got them.... 89 yards!!! HA!

Beanie won this game for us, and now all we have to do is root for 1-6 to lose. Wow, what a great end to a surprisingly good year of Buckeye football.
