I think it's the exact opposite. We seem to be so predicated on "hype" and "juice" and emotion during practice, that when things start to not go our way during a game, the guys have NO idea how to react.

I wish we could be like Bama - there's no flash or hype or anything like that. Every game, they just come out and play solid, hard-hitting and fundamentally-sound football - and they simply do it better than the opponent. Week after week, game after game. That's why they're so damn good and consistent.

I LONG for the day when we can do that again. Haven't seen it in a few years.

We come out hyped sure, but instead of keeping it up, we backpeddle back down the first time we get hit back. So to a degree you have a point, but it's like a false hype or something. We come out like we want to rip heads off, and then when one thing doesn't go our way we lose the edge. Bama has that attitude throughout the game. They come out to play smashmouth football, and they don't waiver no matter the blow back at them. We do not. one thing goes wrong and we lay down and let the other team back into it and control the game. We've done it far too long and it's frusterating.
