What happened to the defense from early in the first quarter?

God I miss fill LBs that dared teams to try to run on them. *sigh

They are reading and not reacting instead of just filling their lanes

Yeah, this scenario feels a lot like last year. I'm just concerned with getting the win today at the moment.

yeah no kidding... this has been the EXACT performance on defense as last year... Starts of so so then teams figure us out the last 4-5 games and go HAM on us. It's a joke and quite frankly to me it looks like there are still massive issues there.

I laughed at a lot of buckeye fans/media for predicting this a blow out and our defense holding them under 100 yards rushing. How did no one see this coming is beyond me because I saw this from the time we played Rutgers.

Hell I thought they'd have 100 by the half

Is there some new gimmicky defensive scheme where you tell your linebackers not to fill gaps. I've seen it happen once and Grant got ran over. WTF is wrong with this defense? It is embarassing.

Are we just not talented at defense this year or something? Chris Ash has had some great defenses at Wisconsin.

DL has no depth and is getting gassed after one or two first downs. The LBs aren't that great and they're getting blown off the line of scrimmage. Not going to stop anyone when that's happening.

I'll be more than happy with a win no matter the score, but this defense is playing out just like last year. Struggling down the stretch.

Eliminate the mistakes. A mistake kept that drive alive which resulted in a score. The D is very suspect.

this defense on 3rd down has VT written all over it...they weren't a good team either. no matter what I say in this thread isn't going to change it...players and coaches need to figure this out because right now, scUM is beating the shit out of the Buckeye defense.
