Did anybody else notice in the captions that twice Jack Tatum was referred to as John Tatum? Did Jack used to go by John or is that just a typing error?

For some reason a lot of John's were called Jack back in those days so his real name was John and he was called Jack.

If you want to talk prices - I was at that game as a student and I paid $14 for a season ticket. If I wanted to go to men's bball games they were 25 cents each and all other sports events were free.

Nachos hadn't been invented yet.


My most vivid memory of The Game that year was the post game celebration.

High St was filled from curb to curb with drunken, celebrating students. I was observing the mayhem from a rise on the West side of High St. About dusk a '57 Chevy with Michigan plates tried to make the turn from 15th onto High heading South. Students were pounding on the car and rocking it. The driver panicked and floored it. You could see the car rising and falling as it drove over people.

By the time I caught up with the incident the car was around 9th. The driver was gone, the roof had been smashed down to seat level and students were trying to set it on fire.

(There was no mention in Sunday's paper.)

I was at that game also and if there were not for my brother and I would have had a goalpost stuck in the back of my head by some crazies. Since I was in a chair and could not get out of the way, my brother and to push about 5 guys leading the charge away from me.

My first name is also John but all of my friends call me "Jack" because my grandfather, who raised me, name was also John and it could sort of get confusing around the house. Saying that, I can never recall Jack Tatum being referred to as John Tatum.

Those newspaper clippings were a great find!

Anybody out there think that the our generation of students back in 68 were any different than those of today? The thing that struck me funny was that "There was no mention in sunday's paper", If that were happening today in our society, what would have been the headlines the next day.

The photos here brought back many memories as I remember those years very well. I was just 27 then don't remember hearing any stories like this
one coming out of Columbus then. How we have changed in our world today.
