DEAR BUCKEYES: BEANIE WELLS WRITES PLAYERS' TRIBUNE LETTER ON WHAT OHIO SATE–MICHIGAN MEANS TO HIM

Michigan never beat former Ohio State running back Beanie Wells.

But in 2006, before he became an Ohio State legend and first-round draft pick, he was former five-star recruit out of Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio. The night before The Game, Troy Smith laid down the stakes in his hotel room among "key members of the team."

From Wells' "Dear Buckeyes," letter, published Friday morning by The Players' Tribune:

“Beanie,” he said. “If you make a play in this game, and we win, you’ll cement yourself in Ohio State history forever. You’ll be a legend. That’s the magnitude of Ohio State vs. Michigan.”

Wells admits, due to his fumbling issues, he didn't expect much burn. As a freshman, he was starstruck when he looked over and saw Derek Jeter on Michigan's sideline. (See, we don’t have a lot of celebrities in Columbus, Ohio...")

The offense is going to see man to man tomorrow with a ton of pressure... There's no excuses for not finding the open men tomorrow. JT is going to have to come up with a few throws he's been missing on as of late to really help us take over the game this year.

Would love to see us go right after their best players in Lewis and Peppers. Peppers in the box is not good news for him if we run right at him so I'd really like to see us go righto at Peppers. All of his tackles he produces he tackles people's legs as their going east to west on him. I have yet to see him square anyone up yet who runs right at him. Mike Weber running full bore into Peppers will not be a good look for him.

As for Lewis he's a great corner but he's small. Last year he struggled with the bigger Mike Thomas and while Noah Brown is no Mike Thomas he has similar size that I feel can be used against him. Throw a few up for grabs and I'm confident Brown comes up with a few of them.

Try to take some chances deep... trust your players to make plays down field. Then attack their defenses strength from time to time. Don't concede anything to them because we tend to let teams "take things away" by their reputation or by how they line up. Sometimes our guys will just out execute if you give them the chance no matter what the other defense Excels at or how they line up.

Bottom line TRUST YOUR PLAYERS to be better then them. It's what we preach year round in comparison to those fucks from up north so let them prove it.

I think this is really going to come down to which OCs show up for the Buckeyes. Will it be Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. Will bit be the OCs we saw against OU/Neb or the OCs we saw against P$U/MSU. I don't feel that we can put this game all on the Defense tomorrow. We need the O to go out and take it to them so the D can break them and take their will....

Hoping they have a few screens that slow down that defense. JT has held the ball too long at times this year and they can't let them tee off on the OL.
