Game Thread THE GAME: #1 tOSU at tCun, Sat. Nov. 29th, 12 pm ET, FOX

The missed tackle aided 27 yard run on 3rd and 6 that set up the game winning FG. Before that run mullings had 27 carries for 84 yards in the game.
I can still see this play in my head from my seat in the Shoe. Haven't watched any moments from that fucking game since the brawl broke out as I left the stadium.

Just fucking win.

Listening to the Doug and Bill podcast this morning because naturally I’m not nervous enough for this game.

They rewatched the last few season TCUN games and they made some good observations. The last few seasons we have set up the first touchdown of the game with bad turnovers. In 2023 TCUN scored on a 9 yard touchdown drive and in 2024 they scored on a 2 yard touchdown. They also laminated bad drops early in both games that would’ve gone for first downs but instead we have to punt as well.

That’s really the keys for this game isn’t it? Don’t turn the ball over and just make the routine plays. As long as we don’t help them out we are very likely going to win the game.

On the flip side, if we have a turnover early in the game or we are making unforced errors with things like drops and drive extending or drive killing penalties that’s a sign to buckle up.

It goes into the narrative of "don't play their game."

They are a team built to win 1st down and then manage 2nd & 3rd on both sides of the ball.

So win 1st down and run some tempo on them. It will catch their big guys on the field and then run their fat asses ragged with a base personnel group like USC did a lot of.

The single biggest advantage between any two units on the field this Saturday will be OSU passing game vs tsun defense. DO NOT give that away. Use the run as a change up. Fuck the most rushing yards and fuck balance.

Exploit your advantage.

If Ohio State can get another 5 turnover game from Michigan like Northwestern did to them then this won't be a close game. Hopefully Patricia has been working on a game plan for Michigan all year to confuse Underwood like he did with Arch and Texas.

Less important than confusing Underwood is stopping the run.

Interesting, but Tcun was without their best DB (safety?), iirc, in last year's Game, still didn't throw to Jeremiah and still lost. Hartline probably has a different game plan, though.

as much as I'd love to lay last year's game plan on Chip Kelly, Ryan Day signed off on it. Had to have.

That said, I do think he snapped last year and knows he can't play their game (finally).
