Game Thread THE GAME: #1 tOSU at tCun, Sat. Nov. 29th, 12 pm ET, FOX

Nowhere near as big an impact as our two WR's (possibly) being out imo.

They are going to run the ball no matter what with whoever they have to do it with.

Our single biggest advantage is gone if we don't have Smith and Tate. We will not be able to beat these guys trying to be balanced and winning the rushing contest.

agreed but we can still kill them with throwing to the TE's bc Sayin is fantastic about getting to his 2nd and 3rd reads. thats what im going to keep telling myself......

Can’t just dink and dump though. They’re aggressive to a fault, but only if you make them pay for that fault. Double moves, misdirection, and picks and wheel routes can get it done, and I think the top can be taken off even without the top WRs.

Gotta have 4. Tate would be nice. 4 DEMANDS a double team. Completely changes your play calling options.

Innis can win in man if 4 plays. He's not called the best CFB Player for nothing.

scUM has been pretty bad at defending the dink and dunk this year. I know people want to see us roast them deep, but we probably can dink and dunk them to death this year. Just get the ball out quick and let the Receivers/RBs/TEs do the work.

I think Jackson as a receiver out of the backfield could actually be a huge X factor in this one.

I think if Tate is out and Smith plays, TTUN will play man and double Smith. Another receiver will need to step up, and of course a TE needs to get open.

Tate may be actually be done for good my friends. Which would suck.

Even if Marshall plays, he won't be 100%.

I am not sure to what degree Scum not having Bredeson really hurts them.

I missed whatever it was that originally hurt Tate.

Now I am seeing more and more that he's done? What happened?
I believe the latest rumors are that it’s a calf/achilles thing. The only thing that I think we can be certain of is that it “tightened up” in the pregame against Purdue and, out of an extreme abundance of caution, they continue to hold him out. The only thing driving anything beyond that is fan driven paranoia fueled by the JSN leg injury experience.

The beat covering the team is nearly unified in their belief that Smith is 100% playing and that Tate is probably playing but it’s harder to say.

Just for thoroughness, the latest rumors on Smith is that he has a sore lower back from the play that obviously gives someone a sore lower back from earlier in the year and a thigh bruise. He’s been playing through both for multiple games. Ohio State coaches wanted him to rest for UCLA and Rutgers but he insisted on playing at UCLA.

Is Bredeson really that pivotal as a blocker or is it just one of those "look how gritty he is!" type things that DFBIA loves to jizz themselves over and he's pretty interchangeable with whoever steps in for him?

Sherrone Moore Calls Ohio State “The Best Team in the Country” with “Elite Players Everywhere On the Field,” Wants The Big House to Be “The Loudest Place It’s Ever Been” for The Game

“Be the most ravenous, craziest, energetic environment that we’ve had in Michigan Stadium ever. That’s what we want it to be. The loudest place it’s ever been.”– Sherrone Moore on the environment in the Big House

“It’s potent, man. It’s one of the best in the country — obviously, the best team in the country ... They’ve got elite players everywhere on the field from a skill position standpoint.”– Sherrone Moore on Ohio State's offense

“It’s a feeling that you can’t describe. It’s an intensity. It’s just an aura about it that you can’t describe until you get on the field, but it’s awesome to be a part of. It’s great to be a part of this. It’s the best rivalry in sports.”– Sherrone Moore on The Rivalry

“those guys play together. They play really good together. There's so many different coverages, front variation, blitz variation, and it's game by game. There's a story in each game of how he calls the game. It's not just this game, he's doing this; it's not just by formation, it's not just by personnel, it's by game.”– Sherrone Moore On Matt Patricia’s defense

“you got to win the line of scrimmage. Always got to do that. You can't let outside noise control the preparation and the progress of what we're doing and the process of what we're doing ... we got to channel our focus on our preparation. That's how you win.”– Sherrone Moore On what Michigan must do to win Saturday

Just sayin': Now if he wanted to be real honest he would say....

"Yeah, we cheated those three years and lied about it; however, that was the only way we could win any games. Conner Stalions came up with the plan and Harbaugh approved/supported it 100%. All the coaches knew what was going on, we lied to/stonewalled the NCAA, and definitely got off easy being able to keep the wins/NCAA Championship. If I had to do it all over again I'd do the some thing; especially the way it turned out with me ending up with the head coaching job. " - Sherrone Moore on Michigan's sign stealing cheating scandal......

Bredeson is the lead blocker for Haynes and Marshall and part of their success as runners. He is also good in pass protection. He is to TCUN what Kazmarek is to our running game and passing game. IMHO, there will be a noticeable drop off if he is absent.
