The Demise Of Oregon's Future

What team has drafted the most QB's into the NFL in the last 10 years?

Any guesses..thats right..The University of Oregon Ducks with 6 QB's in the last 10 years..starting with Akili Smith.

That is why Tajh should come to Oregon..and that is what all of the QB's know that are at Oregon. And we have had QB's drafted that have not even started. AJ Feely being one of those QB's.

 Akili Smith? You thought you were gonna slide that name past Bengals fans? :slappy:

Thats pretty interesting. Would not have guessed that. Welcome to BuckeyePlanet!

That said though, I think the odds are not in favor of Tajh being one of those to add to that number of draftees from U of Oregon, mainly due to distance from home. There's one thing that is a constant in college football recruiting though: anything can change at ANY moment when it comes to kids deciding where to spend the next 3-5 years of their lives pursuing higher education and football dreams.

I like the message about akili smith..what do you expect from a QB that has no offensive line and limited tallent on the receiving core. The oregon state receivers were not there yet..ocho cinco and hushyourmamma

Oh and greg oden has said in countless interviews that he loves oregon and that osu was great but it is much nicer here.

Must have been why he went to OSU. :wink2:

The body of work between OSU and Oregon is not comparable. No offense. You're tooting your horn by mentioning Akili Smith and AJ Feely.

Since when is Oregon an NFL team? And why have they drafted 6 QB's in 10 years?

Fire the GM.

I believe Akili had Carl Pickens and Darnay Scott, who were on par with Chad and TJ. That O-line may have been the worst ever, though. I remember one game, they had a clock onscreen to show how much time Akili had before there was a defender in his face. The average was 2 secs or less. There certainly wasn't much Akili could do, but it was still a bad pick, considering he only started for one year at Oregon.

link?

If you want to get into a comparison match, you're picking with the wrong team (and the wrong fanbase), man. A simple "Thank you for giving us Greg Oden!" would be much obliged.

I am not one that thinks that Oregon is a bad place for any player to to hone his skills and if Tajh Boyd feels that Oregon is the best fit for him then so be it. However, if there is one thing that I wish the fans other schools would keep on their own boards is this " We are the furture" crap. Oregonsthefutur do realize however many puffed up posters of programs that have recently had a little success have come to this and other OSU boards with this mantra. Fans of Kentucky, Rutgers, Lousiville, Pitt and Illinois among many others have all made there way here over the last several years when we were in battles for recruits and made this exact same agruement. And yet these same schools are not consistantly going to BCS bowls, let alone winning championships.

So, if you want to talk about Belotti's or Kelly's ability in developing QBs, have at it. Or if you want to post pictures that are a testiment to the fact that you have a wealthy alumus that is trying to buy your way into the elite of CFB, thats fine too. But until you actually do something on a consistent basis-SHUT UP! Or as Jack Nicholson once said

"Go sell crazy somewhere else....Were all full up"

Tajh should ask Greg why he comes back to Columbus in the summer...

A guy who idolized Troy Smith is probably not going to care about Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, or Jay Feely.

Let's all just hope that Troy Smith idolization will be enough for this young man to join the good guys. I think that he'll end up with the Good Guys... gut feeling... nothing to substantiate it other than too many reasons for it to happen. It could be great for him and tOSU.

Keeping fingers crossed on this one.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday...

Bottom line is if I were you I wouldn't be to proud about Oregon's QB's going into the NFL. Harrison, Akili, Clemens, and Dixon (however he's not for sure yet) have all been not very good AT ALL. Maybe if you pointed out running backs in the past few years with Droughns and Stewart you would have a point but that list of QB's um... Heck we only have one in the league and he's atleast positioned to be better than all of those QB's.

We see the same thing with Dick Rod from Michigan. Terrelle Pryor didn't go to Michigan because his system will not make him a better QUARTERBACK. If Tajh did choose OSU then I bet that will be one of the reasons he does come here.

How many first rounders has Oregon put out in the past few years compared to OSU?

Anyways Merry Xmas though! haha

Oregons the Future

The difference between Oregon and all the other school that have had a few years..we have nike..it was invented by a u of o trackster. We are building the most expensive college basketball arena in the country and that is what will get us our second national title in basketball within the next four years. The truth is that sports makes money for the university and we have the best all around conference..which is why oregon just won back to back track titles..and oregon state won back to back baseball titles. We are going to be huge we just dont live off our past as much as lOSUr and NOtre GAME..and you can buy my shirts that I sell the shhhh out of because the rest of the country hates OSU and Notre Dame because of the lack of here and now..and..instead..then and wow...oh and those shirts are trademarked with the gov..so dont be selling them..otherwise i will come for U.

oh and the pac 10 has the most national title out of any conference..
