i think the show would be funnier if stewart wasnt on it. i do think its very funny, but that has little to do with him. when he is interviewing someone and they say something funny, he has a very annoying laugh that is obviously fake.

I liked the show up until the '04 campaign races.
When he had Tom Daschle on, I thought Stewart was actually going to blow him right there on the set. his nose was so far up Daschle's butt, he almost couldn't contain himself.
Nowadays, most of the "news" Stewart spews is straight out of the left-wing handbook. He is funny, but bashing bush non-stop has gotten old (I'm sure that's why Sushi thinks it's the best show on TV, though! :wink2: )

the interview and features with Colbert are usually pretty hilariuosm though.
Clobert is getting his own show, too. It will air right after the Daily Show.

I'm bumping this back up, because it seems like the best place to ask: Has anyone seen The Colbert Report? What do you think of it? I missed Monday's show, but caught last night's, and I wasn't all that impressed. I love the Daily Show, and I like Colbert, but I think part of what made him work for me was his interaction with Stewart. He seems to lose a little outside of the Daily Show.

It's French, bitch!

I thought Colbert did a good job. He's funny and sponteneous, and he interacts well with the guests. I will miss him and Stewart together, but I think this show will do well. I was a bit nervous about it, but as Colbert says, "If you're not scared, I'm not doing my job."

Did anyone see Bill O'Reilly and Stewart go at it last night?

I kind of feel like they "fixed" something that wasn't broken by spinning Colbert off.

Agreed there. They had a good thing going, but I think Colbert deserves his own show. I just hope they can make the two shows work together. I heard they are giving "This Week in God" to Rob Corddry -- he'll do a good job with it (plus, he's just as goofy-looking as Colbert!).
