The cocktail party is over

Seems like something the universities have to do. Would be irresponsible not to.

And why is that? How are the universities responsible for what college kids--or even older adults for that matter--do near a game? This "cocktail party" thing has been going on for over a half century, and you think that no one else except these two kids has ever died as a result of partying? Can anyone even tie the deaths of these two directly to partying at the game? Just another knee-jerk political reaction.

Maybe they should just limit the types of cocktails... or throw the party at an upscale location... that should work... or perhaps not. :p

Art museum party gets out of hand A party at a US art museum got out of hand after the organisers promised revellers as many martinis as they could drink.

The martini fete at at Milwaukee Art Museum ended with drunk guests passing out, throwing up and clambering over artworks.

One reveller, Kathleen Christians, 39, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: "It was crazy. People were shoving people over. People were getting sick, screaming, shouting, messing with the artwork."

Four young men climbed onto Standing Woman, a tall, bronze sculpture of a goddess-like woman by early 20th-century American artist Gaston Lachaise.

"They were standing on it, grabbing the boobs, and somebody was just taking pictures with a cell phone," said Laura Collins, 35.

The Martinifest event, organised by local radio station Clear Channel, offered unlimited martinis for the equivalent of about £17. [It was $30]

"Hindsight is 20-20... It was probably too cheap," Kerry Wolfe, a local programming director for Clear Channel, said.

Well there goes the Jewled Shillelagh with USC vs ND...it may indicate that the "loser"(preferably the 2nd place team)is less fortunate than the other...you can make anything seem suggestive no matter how ridiculous it sounds and that is how everything is getting now.

Hmm... Florida... Georgia... yep, red state, red state... Liberals indeed. :p

So is this an admission about 2000??? :p

Anyway, this doesn't have much to do with liberalism to me...It has to do with seemingly everyone wanting to dictate how eveyone else should go about their business...There's plenty of that to go around from both sides IMO...

If they want to stop alcohol abuse, just cancel the game...In fact, let's just cancel everything, since you just can't leave all those god damn humans to their own devices...

Oh, and BTW, ignore my avatar. It's the DEMON ALCOHOL and you can not control yourself when in it's grip!!!! I know what's best for you...

Re: They were standing on it, grabbing the boobs,

I guess there is no accounting for tastes. Then again the were drunk.

The mistake was probably the offer of "unlimited" martinis not the price.
