Apparently BusNative missed the point of my post altogether. Maurice Clarett was a learrning curve for alot of us older buckeye fans. I was not comparing TP to Maurice or any other buckeye great.
Since the emergence of JIm Tressel to the Buckeye
Nation, all of us were excited for that. Plus we were all aware of Maurice Claretts existence and what he could accomplish on the football field before coming to OHio State. Never did we ever think that after the N/C game, OhioState would have to go
thru so much turmoil over one players actions and behavior.
It was sad that all this had to happen because Maurice could have been so much greater to himself and others had he chose to stay the course of greatness for his future. We all do not know how good Terrell will be but WE ARE HOPING. The maturity in a young man can only be juged by himself and the way he speakes to others who will be watching him. Like Marty Schottenheimer once was quoted as saying "Deeds not Diologue" is an important action in life. I've been around football along time and have learned many things from good coaches and great players. Yet While I am excited for TP,choosing The Ohio State University as a lauching pad to what could be greatness in the future, i will remain ever cautious to the fact that, things have a tendency to go south in heartbeat for anybody and then we wonder why. I still today, wonder about a person like Maurice Clarett and his life and what he will be. I know Jim Tressel very well and i can tell you he feels the same way. You can only do so much for a young person, the rest is up to his decision. I beleive that this is what Jim tressel is all about. I beleive that this is what the Ohio State University is all about also.
