Well, I won't go as far as to say they are going to be the '69 Mets, but they are looking very good. They are now 43-29 since May 29th.
I'm excited about this weekends series with the Twins. I could see them taking 2 of 3 from the Twins and starting next week a game out of first.
Boy, I'd like to watch the Tribe in October again. I love the fall with the baseball playoffs, the NFL and college football all happening at the same time.
I don't get a freakin' thing done except watch TV.

Even if they don't make it this year, look towards 2005 with great optimism. The White Sox are aging, and the Twins never really make any huge moves to change their club, so the Indians are the dynamic up-and-comers in the division.

Don't worry Sears if the Tribe plays well enough to beat the Sox for the wildcard they will win the Central. I would just like to see them win all of the remaining series with the Twins. I think that would put them in the playoffs. Next year they are going to be sick. They just need to start locking up the young players with long term deals now when they can get them cheeper.

Yes I'm very excited about the Indians this year and for the future. They're actually starting to look like the Indians of old with their booming bats. I have tickets for this weekend against the Twins on saturday. I'm very excited for that.

Good to hear that. I think on Monday night the attendance was around 20,000. That's pretty sad considering they are only 3 games out of 1st and how hard they have played all year. The fans need to get the Jake rocking like the old days.

HLUTSOTT?

I read that the ticket sales are picking up for this series...

Anyway... Its like in "Major League"

"Hey, these guys arent' that fuckin' bad"

Nice Job Mr Shapiro.

Hell... If Wickman had been healthy all season.. It would be the Twins 5 games back wondering what the hell went wrong.

Damn, that's pretty weak. I'm pretty sure the Colo. Rockies average more than that, and they suck. Where are the Cleveland fans?
You're right that Colorado averages more fans, in fact this year they average over 30,000 where as Cleveland averages just over 20,000. You're also right that they suck.

Keep in mind that the Jake still holds a record 455 consecutive sell outs with no other venue even close and that is definitely not weak. By the way, the Indians were in Chicago Monday night.

Fan support is picking up rapidly and tonight's game should be rocking, but it is frustrating not to see more fan support with such a young and exciting team (compared to last season). Walk up ticket sales are around 2000-3000 which is almost 10% of the capacity so people are coming out to see them, but not to the level of the glory days of the mid to late 90's.

I am looking forward to seeing them take a game from the Twinkies tonight and hopefully no worse than 2 out of 3. Cleveland plays Minnesota 15 times before the end of the season, so they could potentially control their own destiny.

Evidently you weren't around for the 5,000-6,000 per game "crowds" in the old Municpal Stadium back in the '70s and '80s...now that was bad.

My sincere apologies. Tuesday night. Is that better??

Whether it's Monday, Tuesday or Saturday the fact this team is only drawing 20,000 fans in the middle of a pennant race is pathetic. They deserve better.

Everyone have fun. My wife was at those games with her folks as well. She still tells stories of having vendors waiting on her hand and foot because there was no one else in her entire section. Classic.
