In the West Indies it is reported that one or another species of Giant Coackroach can be found.

This is a picture of one such from Wikipedia (PD reuse OK, originally uploaded to Wikipedia by User_davePape).
Is this what you saw in Kingston?

This bug is totally harmless but for it's look alone it is one of my top 5 WEIRDEST DAMN BUGS.

It's called a Jerusalem Cricket. The fact that you can see THRU their outer shell and that their head looks like a babyish face just FREAKS me out.

Looks a lot like a Parktown prawn, common in Johannesburg.

I declare shananigans on the bot fly - brain photo. Sure - the larvae is still going to be there after a perfect brain autopsy. Also - the brain is mostly fat - no way a little worm is going to eat like 300 times is own body weight in fat.

We have something that looks like this in New Mexico. Correction. It's a
Solpugid. An arachnid. Non poisonous.

Interesting fact, the Japanese have been using bug faces on cars for years. t
