I also think if they announced that fans won't be attending, all of this is basically going to make fans be like "at least there is a season". I think the ADs have been too optimistic about fans in the stadium that it was going to cause an uproar if it didn't happen. It takes the heat off everyone if it's part of the protocol to keep players safe.

Ohio State not voting for Big Ten to cancel football in 2020

Ohio State does not expect a Big Ten vote Monday night on canceling football for 2020, but if one happened, incoming President Kristina M. Johnson would vote against cancellation, a university source told cleveland.com.
